Snow Season Opening Weekend
11 – 14 JunFrom June to September, Victoria's alpine resorts offer everything from skiing and snowboarding for beginners, intermediates and experts, to toboggan and cross-country trails, snow tubing and family fun activities. Over the opening snow season weekend in June Victoria’s ski resorts celebrate with a wide variety of fun activities at Mt Buller, Falls Creek, Mount Hotham, Lake Mountain and Mt Baw Baw.

Mt Buller
Only three hours from Melbourne, Mount Buller is an alpine wonderland nestled high on the ski fields where you can ski from the slopes to the front door of your lodge. Mt Buller is the most accessible major snow resort in Australia, located within easy driving distance of Melbourne. The Mt Buller Village is located right in the heart of the snowfields, featuring 7,000 on-mountain beds ranging from basic to luxurious accommodation and more than 30 retail outlets, cafes and restaurants. What’s New
Mount Buller has a new snowmaking system dedicated to topping up the village toboggan park to keep the kids happy all winter long. A second toboggan park is also located at Mount Buller’s Horse Hill Chairlift, where snow players can then catch the lift up to the popular Spurs Snowtubing Park.

Getting there
Driving Distance from Melbourne – Mt Buller 250km (3hrs)
By Road – From Melbourne, take the Hume Highway or the Maroondah Highway to Mansfield. Then take the Mt Buller Road through Merrijig up to Mt Buller
By Coach – Snow/coach packages are available through Mt Buller Central Reservations
By Air – Mt Buller is the closeset ski resort to Melbourne International Airport. Mt Buller Central Reservations can package airfare and coach transfers.

Skiing
Whether you're a beginner about to discover the magic of snow sports or an expert who can navigate the steepest slopes with ease, you'll get more out of your holiday if you ski the runs that are best suited to your level. Mt Buller has a variety of terrain to suit any level of ability.


Snowboarding
Snowboarding is a sport for all ages and attitudes. It is easy to learn and allows for a lot of expression making it very popular with the adventurous, relaxed and free-spirited. So, if you're looking for a new way to tackle the slopes grab a board and head for the slopes this winter.

Toboganing
Families with kids of all ages love the exhilarating experience of tobogganing!

Snow Tubing
Snowtubing offers fun for the whole family and is a perfect way to spend the day! Sit or lie in an over-sized inflated rubber tube and feel the adrenaline rush as you spin you way down the channels of the snowtubing park!

Snow Shoeing
Donning a pair of snow shoes is the perfect way to explore the winter wonderland in Mt Buller. Suitable for all ages, snow shoeing is as easy as walking. Whether you want to trek to the summit to watch a glorious sunset or explore the Mt Buller backcountry playground with deep snow among the trees, you’ll discover a side of the mountain you haven't seen before.

Chairlift
You don’t have to be a skier or boarder to explore the mountain! Simply jump on either the Horse Hill or Blue Bullet 1 and 2 Chairlifts and enjoy a breathtaking ride across Mt Buller’s slopes, so don’t forget to pack your camera.
